Boomtreebees is based in Buncrana, which is located on the stunning Inishowen Peninsula beside the shores of Lough Swilly.
Our mission is to help with the conservation and rewilding of the honeybee. By offering workshops on site, in schools and other venues we aim to educate the public on a more sustainable way of beekeeping/ conservation.
Throughout the year Boomtreebees holds workshops on bee conservation, log hive making, habitat building, natural beekeeping, beehives and much more.
For schools we provide a special package to teach children about honeybees and their habitat and what we can do to help.
Boomtreebees also provides a landscaping service with the emphasis on improving habitat for honeybees and other pollinators.
Bees in the wild prefer to live in hollow tree limbs 4 to 6 metres above the ground and we design our log hives to mimic this habitat as closely as possible.
Boomtreebees makes three types of log hive; a standing log hive for sustainable beekeeping, an elevated log hive for conservation and a tree conservation log hive. All three types are available to purchase.
